Setup wizard
Run:
Avibe starts a local Web UI and opens the setup wizard.
The wizard walks through:
- The Avibe Workbench — an always-on local web chat surface (nothing to set up).
- Optional chat platforms — Slack, Discord, Telegram, WeChat, or Lark / Feishu.
- Agent backends and their model providers.
- Agent CLI paths and the default working directory.
- Channels or chats where Avibe should respond.
- Health checks for the selected setup.
Finishing — or skipping — the wizard marks setup complete, so you are not sent back to it on the next launch. You can change anything later in Settings.
The Avibe Workbench is always available
You do not need a third-party chat app to use Avibe. The Avibe Workbench is a built-in web chat that lives in the local Web UI and is always enabled — it is the one surface you cannot turn off. Connecting Slack, Discord, and the others is optional and additive.
On a phone, open the Workbench URL and use your browser’s Add to Home Screen to install it as an app.
Workbench-only is a complete setup. You can finish the wizard with no chat platform connected and add platforms later when you want them.
Connect the chat app where you already work. Each platform you enable gets its own credential step in the wizard; you can also skip them all and add platforms later in Settings.
| Platform | Best for |
|---|
| Slack | Team workflows, threads, Socket Mode, mature interactivity |
| Discord | Community and personal servers |
| Telegram | Lightweight personal and group bots |
| WeChat | Mobile-first China workflows |
| Lark / Feishu | China/Asia workspaces and enterprise chat |
Agent backends
Enable one or more backends. The wizard auto-detects installed CLIs, offers a one-click install for any that are missing, and gives each backend a Configure model provider button — the same provider settings you will find later under Settings, so there is nothing to redo.
| Backend | Best for |
|---|
| Claude Code | Deep reasoning and complex codebase work |
| OpenCode | Fast local setup and extensibility |
| Codex | OpenAI coding workflows |
You can enable multiple backends and route different channels to different agents.
Prefer the wizard over manual config
Avibe stores persistent config under your local user directory. You can inspect config files when debugging, but first-time setup should go through the wizard because it validates credentials and platform state.
